A few words from our CEO, Eugene McDaid, to celebrate International Women’s Day.
I’m extremely fortunate to be surrounded by inspiring women and girls in all areas of my life, at work, at home and through my work with Solihull Vixens (Girls Rugby aged 12-18).
Also as the father of two daughters, I’m very fortunate to have two very positive and driven young women and have always encouraged them to be confident in who they are and the decision they make.
I’m also extremely fortunate to have such great women on the team here at KEMIO Consulting in Jade and Charlotte. They are both truly amazing individuals, always looking to learn and expand their knowledge, dedicated to providing the highest levels of service and great fun to be around. I feel very privileged to have them in the organisation and their input is so valuable in helping us evolve our business and grow as a team.
Then there is the amazing bunch of young girls and young adults I have the opportunity to coach and develop through Rugby on a weekly basis. Traditionally like most major sport, rugby has been male dominated in the past but with inspiring female leaders such as England’s Red Roses and the hard work they do to leave a positive legacy behind things are changing. They have laid down the path for the next generation of girls coming through.
To see the girls grow in confidence, break stereotype, bring their friends along and enjoy everything team sport brings, really is rewarding. Also to see Solihull Vixens grow from 6 girls to 80 over the last few years goes to show the need to give girls more opportunities in sports that have not traditionally been available.
Then there is also my wife who always has such a positive impact on my life and our family. Another fantastic role model and super astute businesswoman as well as being my best friend and chief advisor.
It’s great the advancements we have made in sport, business and society but we still have a way to go. International Women’s Day is a day to recognise all the wonderful things and impact Women have in our lives. Thanks to all the inspiring women and girls I have the pleasure in knowing I hope you all have a fantastic International Women’s Day.
