Most Influential CEO 2024 – UK (BioTech Recruitment)
Wow, truly an honour for our CEO Eugene McDaid. Our team at KEMIO were delighted (but not surprised) to see Eugene had been awarded the Most Influential CEO 2024 in BioTech Recruitment. Extremely well-deserved and we all send a huge congratulations to Eugene!
As many of you may know, KEMIO is not Eugene’s first venture. In 2003, Eugene co-founded a recruitment company which was one of the very first consultancies to provide support within Bioinformatics, Genomics and Drug Discovery. Over the course of almost 20 years, Eugene initiated successful partnerships across the globe with companies such as the Sanger Institute, Genomics England, Boehringer Ingelheim, Gilead Sciences and Google DeepMind. Eugene was absolutely fundamental in the development of many more relationships, his network, knowledge and understanding of this space is completely unmatched. This expertise is what really sets us apart at KEMIO and gives us a clear edge in the scientific recruitment space.
As CEO at KEMIO, Eugene brings incredible resilience and knowledge in business, while also taking care to run a happy and diverse company. Always navigating market challenges and curveballs with coolness. He has a knack for looking out for the team from a business and personal perspective, and is always at hand to offer advice, ensure people are developing their skills and getting the best out of themselves. If you have the pleasure of meeting Eugene, you will sense his real passion for the industry and following developments in genomic sequencing, artificial intelligence, data science and drug discovery programs.
All this while also juggling family life, children and girls rugby coaching which has been going from strength to strength over the last 10 years! Yes, we wonder how he does it too.
Finally, Eugene values networking and spending quality time with his clients, fellow leaders and local company founders. From Birmingham to London, Basel to Boston, NY and San Francisco, he’s had some serious fun and happy memories travelling with the team.
Exciting years as CEO are still to come, and Eugene looks forward to welcoming new prospects and experienced consultants into the KEMIO team in the next 12 months.
