    Charlotte reaches 6 Months

    29th July 2024

My first 6 months at KEMIO has been full of learnings and opportunities. I have some amazing success and also had things not go my way. I think the biggest lessons I have learnt is being resilient, stick to your processes, keep working hard and the results will come.

A lot of this 6 months has been ironing out processes, figuring out what works, what doesn’t and making tweaks to ensure we are delivering the best results for our partners and candidates, but also ensuring we are as successful as possible. Being flexible and open to change has been really important.

I’ve tried to take as much advice and knowledge from my colleagues during this time. Being a sponge and asking lots of questions. They’ve helped me approach difficult roles, learn new skills, jump into new challenges head on, and advised me on effective ways to manage my time. Having knowledgeable and supportive people around me has really helped me to get the most out of this time.

In recruitment it is easy to get distracted by exciting opportunities that come in, but it is important to remain proactive and not become too reactive. Stick to your processes, and the long term plan and don’t get too caught up in short term quick wins. Whilst the short term wins can be exciting, often this can distract from the long term plan and goals. This is an area I am continuing to work on as I am in this for the long run.

I feel fortunate to recruit into the life sciences, and work with clients who make an impact on drug discovery, human health and environmental sciences. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some amazing clients and candidates in this 6 months and I’m excited to see what the rest of the year has in store. To anyone thinking about a career in recruitment, I would definitely recommend it. It’s challenging, there will be up’s and down but if you stick with it and are resilient it is also incredibly rewarding.
